This event is ideal for international undergraduate and post graduate students studying Accounting, Finance, Economics and Business disciplines in Australia across all study years. At the session, you will hear from young CPA members who were international students in Australia and now work as young professionals in Australia and overseas. The members will share their career stories and practical tips to help students in their accounting journey, including identifying career opportunities following graduation. 

During this 1-hour session we will also cover key topics to include:

  • The CPA Program and how to Become a CPA?
  • Future proofing your career of the need for a professional body that enables career progression.

Larry Tam CPA

Larry Tam CPA is a Business Analyst - ESG at SASH Vets.

Originally from Hong Kong, Larry moved to Australia in 2016 and completed a Bachelor of Business at the University of Tasmania, where he served as a CPA Australia Student Ambassador.

After graduation, Larry joined Hazell Bros Group and spent five years progressing from Workshop Administrator to Business Analyst. During this time, he developed experience in financial reporting, business intelligence, Power BI, data analytics and sustainability reporting.

In 2026, Larry relocated to Sydney and joined SASH Vets, where he now supports the organisation's sustainability reporting program and implementation of the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS).

Larry's career demonstrates how accounting, analytics and technology can create opportunities beyond traditional accounting pathways. He is passionate about helping organisations make better decisions through data, reporting and sustainability initiatives.

Sailin Xu CPA

Sailin (Jiangfan) Xu CPA is a Senior Financial Analyst with many years of experience across the accounting firm, taxation, insurance, energy, and aviation industries. 

She is a fully qualified CPA and a graduate of the University of New South Wales, with expertise in taxation, financial reporting, business partnering and process improvement. Throughout her career, she has successfully led financial transformation initiatives, delivered complex reporting outcomes, and partnered with stakeholders across diverse business functions.

Beyond her professional role, Sailin is passionate about developing future talent and promoting diversity and inclusion. She serves as a Committee Member of the Qantas Asian Employee Network, helping drive cultural awareness and diversity initiatives. She has organised the Qantas Speed Mentoring Event and volunteers as a mentor in the UNSW Mentoring Program, supporting students and early-career professionals as they navigate their careers.

A finalist in the Accountants Daily 30 Under 30 Awards, Sailin enjoys sharing practical insights and empowering the next generation of accounting and finance professionals. 

Ahmad Syahazan Yaacob FCPA

 Ahmad Syahazan holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Corporate Finance) from University of Adelaide, Australia. He is a Fellow Member of CPA Australia and Vice President of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) effective 8 December 2025. At MIA, he also serves as a Member of the Disciplinary Committee, Public Practice Committee, and Small and Medium Practices Committee. Additionally, he is a Member of the Public Practice Committee of the Malaysia Division of CPA Australia. 

Upon graduation from University of Adelaide, Ahmad Syahazan started his career with Ernst & Young from 2008 to 2017 and held various position from Audit Associate to Audit Senior Manager. 

He later joined Deloitte PLT as an Audit Senior Manager and in 2018, he joined SALIHIN as Audit Director. His leadership and proficiency in audit and assurance services led to his promotion to Audit & Assurance Partner in 2022. Today, he serves as the Audit & Assurance Managing Partner, guiding the firm with his extensive experience and strategic vision. 

Throughout his career, Ahmad Syahazan has more than 10 years of experience in providing statutory and non-statutory audit services for various listed and non-listed corporations across various industries such as real estate and property development, oil & gas, education, consumer products, retail & manufacturing.
