Summary

Sustainability reporting is moving from preparation to implementation, with organisations across the Asia-Pacific region navigating the practical implications of the ISSB Standards and evolving assurance requirements.

Jointly hosted by EY in Malaysia and CPA Australia Malaysia Division, this exclusive session will launch EY’s latest climate study and explore key insights from the first year of ISSB reporting, with a focus on Malaysia and the broader Asia-Pacific landscape. The session will provide a practical perspective on what the first year of reporting reveals for organisations, investors and the wider business community, and what this means as sustainability reporting continues to evolve.

The session will begin with opening remarks from EY and CPA Australia, followed by a presentation of key findings from EY’s climate study. The discussion will look at emerging trends and observations from first-year reporting in Malaysia, as well as the current status of ISSB adoption and assurance requirements across Asia-Pacific.

A panel discussion will then bring together different perspectives on the first year of ISSB reporting, including practical lessons from implementation, how investors and financiers are using sustainability disclosures in their decision-making, and how stakeholder expectations may shape future reporting requirements.
