Summary
Every role eventually comes to an end—whether through retirement, a career move, changing priorities, or circumstances beyond your control. The best leaders don't just deliver results while they're in the seat; they prepare others to succeed long after they're gone.
Join the Sunshine Coast Branch as Dave Clare explores how thoughtful leadership transitions, succession planning and effective knowledge transfer can set your successor—and your organisation—up for success from day one.
Dave will also share three practical insights you can assess in your own organisation this week:
- Know what you are actually leaving behind.
- Know what your successor really needs.
- Know whether you have a plan—or just a date.
Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable perspectives on creating a lasting leadership legacy and ensuring a seamless transition for those who follow.

Circle Leadership Global
Dave Clare is the Founder and Chief Evolution Officer of Circle Leadership Global and the architect of the World C.L.A.S.S. model, an integrated approach to culture, leadership and strategy used by organisations across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.
He has spent thirty years as a leadership practitioner across three continents. He was named Most Influential Purpose-Driven Leadership Development Speaker at the 2026 Australian CEO Excellence Awards, and Circle Leadership Global is a 2026 finalist in the AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies list.
Dave is the author of It's Time to Lead Different and humAIn, International Chair of the Intercontinental Chamber of Commerce across seven continents, and APAC Ambassador for the Global Company Culture Association. He is a regular on the Coast, having spoken at FWD Fest in Maroochydore.
His position is that organisations rarely fail because the strategy was wrong, the culture was weak, or the leadership was thin. They fail because those three were never designed to operate as one system.
