AI is increasingly shaping the modern finance function, helping you work more efficiently, analyse information and support better decision-making. This practical session will explore how Microsoft 365 Copilot can be applied to common accounting, audit and finance tasks.
Through demonstrations and hands-on exercises, you will explore how Copilot can support:
- AI applications in accounting, audit and finance
- Effective prompting for professional tasks
- Financial and variance analysis in Excel
- Audit and document review
- Reporting and communication using Word, Outlook and Teams
- Business questions and briefings using Copilot Chat
- An introduction to Copilot Studio and Finance AI Agents (Demo)
- Responsible AI, verification and professional judgement
You will have the opportunity to follow along with the practical exercises and explore how these tools can be applied to your own finance workflows.
Pre-requisites
This is a practical, hands-on session. To get the most out of the exercises, you are encouraged to have:
- Microsoft 365 Copilot: An active Microsoft 365 Copilot licence is recommended for the hands-on exercises.
- Microsoft account: You can use your work or personal Microsoft account.
- Microsoft applications: Access to Excel, Word, Outlook and Copilot Chat is recommended.
- Copilot Studio: You do not need access to Copilot Studio. The trainer will demonstrate it during the session.
- Exercise materials: A sample Excel file will be provided for the practical exercises.
Before the session: No special technical preparation is required. If you have Microsoft 365 Copilot, we recommend having access ready before the session so you can fully participate in the hands-on exercises. If you do not have Copilot access, you can still follow along with the trainer’s demonstrations.
Technical check: Please log in 30 minutes before the session to allow time for a technical check.
