Session description:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is moving quickly into accounting and finance work, creating opportunities for efficiency, insight and better decision-making. At the same time, it raises practical questions around governance, ethics, accountability, privacy, transparency, bias and trust.
Delivered through a moderated Q&A, this session gives CPAs a practical, non technical understanding of responsible AI adoption. The discussion will focus on the questions professionals should ask before using AI, what information should not be entered into AI tools, how to review AI-generated work, and how simple governance guardrails can support safe and ethical use.

- Explain why AI governance and ethics matter for accounting and finance professionals
- Identify practical questions to ask before AI tools are used in professional work
- Apply professional judgement and scepticism when reviewing AI-generated outputs

Moderator
Belinda Zohrab
Regulation and Standards Lead, CPA Australia
Belinda Zohrab is the Regulation and Standards Lead at CPA Australia. She began her professional career as a tax specialist, working in accounting and law firms and latterly as a teaching fellow at the University of Auckland.
Belinda has held several roles with CPA Australia, including as the tax curator for the CPA Program and Professional Development offerings.

Tyler Wise
Director, Wise Forensics
Tyler Wise is director of Wise Forensics, with unique skills in forensic accounting investigations and cybersecurity strategy. With over two decades in public practice, Tyler is a Fellow of CPA Australia, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Computer Examiner (CCE). He brings deep expertise across public practice & tax compliance, forensic accounting, digital forensics and the wider cybersecurity landscape.
Tyler regularly contributes to industry development through training, public speaking, and advisory roles—most notably with the ATO’s Tax Practitioner Cybersecurity Working Group and CPA Australia’s Centre of Excellence for Digital Transformation.

Ankit Kochar
Director – Digital Assurance (AI and Data), Deloitte Southeast Asia
Ankit Kochar leads the AI Assurance practice for Deloitte Southeast Asia, helping organisations navigate AI governance, risk, controls, and assurance as they scale AI adoption.
With over 15 years of consulting and transformation experience across APAC and Europe, he advises C-suite executives and boards across financial services, public sector, and other industries on AI risk, regulatory expectations, and responsible AI adoption.
His work focuses on translating complex AI regulations, standards, and risk principles into practical, scalable governance and assurance frameworks—bridging policy, technology, and business execution to enable AI adoption with confidence.
