Summary

This 60-minute online panel, organised by the Victorian Public Practice Committee and facilitated by CPA Australia, brings together three practitioners from firms of different sizes to share real-world insights on running a practice in a changing environment.

Featuring:

• Michelle Frey CPA, TAK Advice

• Zak Hablas CPA, Assuris FIG

• Jason Robinson FCPA, Future Advisory

Through a candid, discussion-led format, panellists will explore how they are responding to regulatory change, evolving client expectations, and the growing role of AI and technology in practice. The conversation will also touch on client selection and management, as well as the practical realities of building a sustainable and resilient practice in an evolving landscape.

Participants will also gain awareness of relevant CPA Australia tools and resources that can support ongoing practice management and professional development.

Designed to be insight-driven rather than instructional, this session offers the opportunity to hear directly from peers, compare approaches, and reflect on what may work within your own practice.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explain strategies used by practitioners to prepare for regulatory change
  • Identify practical strategies shared by peers for managing evolving client expectations and client fit
  • Discuss how AI and other technologies are being applied in practice, based on practitioner insights
