Topic: Advanced Error Notifications for Excel presented by Thomas Paul

The Queensland Business Committee welcomes you to attend our Financial Modelling discussion group.  This event will be co-hosted with Danielle Stein Fairhust, financial modelling author, speaker, trainer and consultant.

Error checks are a critical element for all financial models regardless of complexity, but identifying an issue is only the first step. When an issue occurs in a model, users need error checks to stand out clearly and provide useful information and direction to resolve the issue in a simple and user-friendly way.

Join Thomas Paul, an experienced financial modeller in BDO’s Corporate Finance team, as he demonstrates his Notification Centre which provides a prioritised list of notifications for issues with dynamic hyperlinks and commentary to more quickly find and resolve issue when they occur.

This session will cover:

  • Using a Notification Centre to prioritise notifications and provide helpful information to resolve them
  • Using formulas to dynamically navigate to the source of the issue
  • Discuss types of notifications including errors, warnings, sensitivities and notes.
